Oral Hormone Treatment

What is meant by natural or bioidentical hormones? Several years ago, there was very little information out there about them since they cannot be patented.  Natural hormones were found in the 1930s.  Doesn’t it make more sense to replace the identical hormones that your body is losing rather than using a substitute? Bioidentical hormones can be compounded into different individual doses for each patient.   They can be in the formulated in oral, topical, transdermal, in the form of creams or gels that are taken or applied daily & even pellets that are inserted usually every 3-6 months.

Balancing hormones is not an overnight process but may take several months to find just the right balance for everyone. It is not once size fits all or one pill fixes everyone. Hormonal balancing requires frequent & thorough testing and adjustments until the patient feels at their optimum.

Oral hormone therapy can include pills, lozenges, troches, or  sublingual, which are dissolvable compounded medications formed in the shape of a cough drop or circle & slowly dissolved over a short time period, (ex: 30 minutes).
